Step 1: Try to Resolve the Issue with the School

Students are encouraged to first report any complaint or concern directly to the School Director. This may include concerns about instruction, attendance records, grading, tuition charges, conduct, or any school policy.

Students should submit complaints in writing whenever possible and keep a copy for their records.

Step 2: If the Issue Is Not Resolved

If a student is not satisfied with the school’s response or if the student believes they may be penalized for making a complaint the student has the right to file a complaint with the New York State Education Department.

Complaints may be made about school conduct, advertising, instruction, equipment, facilities, qualifications of personnel, enrollment agreements, tuition practices, school records, or related matters.

Step 3: How to File a Complaint with NYSED (BPSS)

Students may contact the New York State Education Department’s Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS)to request assistance or to file a complaint.
